TREzure
TREzure is a Trusted Research Environment (TRE) in the Azure cloud that removes the need to transfer patient data outside the hospital’s control.
It allows hospitals to retain full oversight of the data reuse lifecycle while implementing stringent access controls and permissions for data recipients and other platform stakeholders.
Built on a scalable cloud infrastructure, TREzure can be deployed for a single hospital, for a network of hospitals, or even at the national or the EU level.
Secure Processing Environment
Section titled “Secure Processing Environment”Through enhancing hospitals’ confidence in data security and fostering public trust in the responsible reuse of health data, TREzure is also a Secure Processing Environment (SPE), a cornerstone in advancing the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Objectives
Section titled “Objectives”Our three primary objectives for this project include:
- Building a case management process, supported by technology, to support a data request from the moment a data/research permit is granted to the moment of closing and archiving the request.
- Defining an architecture that serves as a safe and trustworthy platform for sharing data, secure processing, and research.
- Enabling discovery of data assets available for research and monitoring of data assets on the platform through a data catalog.
